Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)

If you experience pain, jaundice, or unexplained weight loss, your healthcare provider may like to schedule an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography or ERCP. An ERCP looks at the liver, pancreas, and gallbladder in order to find the cause of the above symptoms.

During the procedure, a tube with a small camera and light attached is inserted through your mouth and down through your stomach. Then a smaller tube is thread through, and the doctor examines or may take samples from bile ducts that feed into your small intestine. Watch the video to learn more.
