Simple Suggestions for Colon Cancer Screening

A new study report followed the experiences of so many of us in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Surgery. Patients such, younger than 50, are rising in occurrence rates of colon cancer. Based on current trends, the incidence of colon cancer is estimated to rise by 90% for patients between 20 and 34 years and by 28% for those between the ages of 35 and 49, respectively. Young faces in the world of colorectal cancer will not be uncommon if things continue.

Although a number of organizations and coalitions are involved in stopping the epidemic, the fact is that in the future colorectal cancer will affect a lot more people. Therefore, colonoscopy screening at an early age is a must.

Therefore, give the following recommendations to people who are young and diagnosed with colon or rectal cancer:

  • Don't be bothered. To be embarrassed will be quite easy. The simpler it gets, the more you can accept it.

  • Don't compare with your mates. Your peers can lead a very different life from yours in their adolescents, 20s, 30s & 40s. You will be able to take another path with your cancer diagnosis. It is okay if you have a different life in your home, work and family compared to your age due to the colonoscopy screening.

  • One of the "plus sides" of a younger cancer diagnosis is the resilience of life. You see that many people don't know how short life is. So use it. Create a list of buckets and cross things off. Perform the activities that are taking you to life. Don't wait.

  • Be a good friend. We think patients with cancer understand best how real friendship feels. When people flock to your house, bring food for all (if you are enjoying it) and even launch campaigns in the social media. And, because of your experience, be a good friend to others who have gone through colon cancer screening.

  • Do feel good. Perhaps your interpretation is your truth. If you believe that "life is not fair," your life will not be fair. The struggle won't seem simpler, but it will inspire many others as well if you want to see the positive side and think favorably.

Do not wait for colon cancer screening by thinking your life will be miserable if the results come positive. Book your schedule with Digestive Disease in OKC and get your tests done quickly.
