Robert A. Rankin, M.D.

Dr. Rankin is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and has completed extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver and gallbladder. He was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Indiana from 1978 to 1980, and was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma until 1995, prior to joining Digestive Disease Specialists, Inc.

Dr. Rankin is widely respected in his field. A native of Marshall, Iowa, Dr. Rankin received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and his medical degree from the University of Iowa, graduating with honors. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and clinical fellowship in Gastroenterology at Indiana University Hospitals in Indianapolis before moving to Oklahoma in 1980. Dr. Rankin is a member of several professional associations including the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the Arkansas/Oklahoma Endoscopy Society (past president), and the Oklahoma State Medical Association. He has had numerous research articles published in professional journals and has contributed to several books on Gastroenterology.
